kangaroo love ♥

We enjoy our kangaroo care time. I try to do kangaroo care during at least one of her feedings during the day. Kangaroo care is when we hold our baby skin-to-skin on our chest. The NICU staff encourage it very much. Doctors say Kangaroo care helps the baby stay asleep longer, spend more time being quiet (rather than crying), helps maintain their body warm, helps them gain weight, build a connection parent and child, and it's supposed to help with the mother's milk production. All I know is she loves it and we love it. If she seems uncomfortable in her incubator and is moving all over, a few minutes after we hold her, she goes to sleep! We like to talk to her and/or sing to her while we rock her. Holding her like this, is definitely my favorite part of the day!

  1. Precious! Praying for your little one to grow strong, to gain weight, to be comforted by your touch. May God comfort you two as well as you care for her along with all the nurses and doctors. May you feel his touch on your lives as well and may he continue to bring you healing Ana.
